Description

Scope of exclusive breastfeeding in infants 0-6 months in Indonesia showed a decrease of 61.5% in 2010 to 61.1% in 2011. Above it is necessary to have a support group of breast milk (KP-ASI) to increase exclusive breastfeeding at nursing mothers to give their babies only breast milk until the baby is 6 months old. The purpose of the study to determine the role of a support group of breast milk (KP-ASI) in increasing exclusive breastfeeding in nursing mothers. The design used in this research is descriptive. The population in this study were all cadres breastfeeding support group (CTF-ASI) in the region Pulorejo Jombang district health centers were 38 respondents. Large sample of which is used by 38 respondents. The sampling technique used total sampling. The variables used in this study is the role of a support group of breast milk (KP-ASI), the instrument in this study using a questionnaire. Analysis of the data used is a frequency distribution table. The results showed that the majority (86.8%) positive role breastfeeding support group (KP-ASI) in increasing exclusive breastfeeding is the number 33, and the negative by 5 people. Based on the research that has been dilakukian researchers, it can be concluded that most of the support group of breast milk (KP-ASI) has a positive role in promoting exclusive breastfeeding in nursing mothers in the sub-district health centers Ngoro Pulorejo Jombang.
